Internet Outage/Latency

Just got this update from Level 3, Cox’s bandwidth provider in this region in regards to the latency issues today.

03:50 GMT  They estimate that splicing will not begin for approximately 3 hours due to the difficulty in accessing the site. Splice Crews are onsite at this time and the backhoe has arrived onsite and is beginning to dig at this time  access has been difficult as the cut is in a very remote location with rough terrain and no roads. Field Services has confirmed that all fibers are exposed and fiber is 4 feet deep, but all fibers are exposed. All twelve conduits were pulled up by construction crews. Field Services will go back approximately 30 feet on each side to ensure they get good fiber. There are 3 splice crews onsite at this time. Field Technicians have been dispatched to both ends of the cut at Yuma, AZ and El Centro, CA to identity which systems are on which fibers to prepare the restoration priority plan. Field Technician should arrive onsite in Yuma in approximately 30-45 minutes.
